Just before World War II, it was common to see business coupe models among car lineups. Designed for traveling salesmen and those who commuted to work. Today, this business coupe example has been transformed into modern-day Restomod.
Made in General Motors’ Flint, Michigan factory, this car has undergone a transformation to a vehicle with traditional looks and modern running gear.
Dressed in Cream White over Persimmon Metallic Paint, the car’s paint and trim are in overall excellent condition. The chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body, the engine bay is very tidy and the bodywork is straight and solid. The car’s chrome inside and out has been refinished.
This car rolls on Fuzion touring radials, size 205/60R15 in front and 215/70R15 in back. Each one is mounted to a Cragar five-spoke rim.
Under the hood is a Vortec 350 CID V-8 engine with a Titan ES 1014 R cam and performance heads. There is also a Champion aluminum radiator, Edelbrock air cleaner and intake manifold and EZ wiring. The motor is backed by a Hydramatic 700R four-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, there is a gray bench seat that folds forward for extra storge space. The seat is in very good order. The black carpeting looks good, as does the Persimmon metal dash. It has a full array of VDO gauges and an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel and a column-mounted shift lever. Vintage air-conditioning vents are mounted under the dash. The inner door panels match the upholstery and there are black armrests mounted on the door.
In 1941, the Master Deluxe Series AG and Special Deluxe Series AH had updated styling from the year before with things such as a new grill, new suspension, new curves, and the headlight mounted in the fenders, and the Special Deluxe introduced the Special Deluxe Fleetline sedan. The Special had better fabric than the Master, along with arm rests in the doors. There was full instrumentation.
